Laura Harris made the most of it, smashing 55 off 21 at the death to push Warwickshire to one of the top five totals in the competition.
Durham could only manage 151 all out in 19 overs. A 42-run win, and Warwickshire announced their title credentials from the opening weekend.

She hit 81 off 44 balls in a Player of the Match performance, with Kathryn Bryce providing calm support on 39 off 35.
Durham’s 188/5 was set by Suzie Bates (77 off 58) and Bess Heath (45 off 27).
Sarah Glenn had earlier helped restrict the total to 2/21.

Bex Tyson’s 3/40 proved decisive, slowing the run rate when Essex needed boundaries. They finished 25 runs short on 190/7.
Two teams are both posting 190-plus in the same match. The 2025 season’s opening day set a tone that the rest of the competition had to try to match.

Hampshire never got close. Kathryn Bryce took 4/13 to bowl them out for 151.
A 37-run win that showed just how balanced The Blaze were across both disciplines.
9. Durham Women – 188/5

Durham’s 188/5 deserves more credit than a bottom-half ranking suggests. On most days in T20 cricket, 188 wins. This was not most days.
Suzie Bates scored 77 off 58, and Bess Heath hit 45 off 27, but Sarah Glenn (2/21) and Kathryn Bryce (2/37) for The Blaze kept the scoring in check at key moments.
Then Beaumont batted. Durham’s total was never going to be enough once she found her rhythm.
They lost by seven wickets, and their 188 ended up being overtaken comfortably.
A fine innings from Durham. Just not fine enough on that afternoon.
